The Microsoft Band is a device that sends you notifications for your messages, email and calendar. It also tracks your heart rate, sleep and activity and has a library of courses ranging from golf to running to improve your fitness. It’s the first fitness tracker and smartwatch produced by Microsoft.
The band comes in three sizes (small, medium, large) and is available for $129.
It works with Windows phones, iPhones and Android phones.
The Microsoft band comes with a big LCD screen that you can use to start tracking your activities. It also shows call and text notifications and if you want to follow an exercise course, you can follow on the screen what you need to do.
The tracking from the Microsoft band seems pretty accurate and the mobile app gives you a lot (maybe a bit too much?) information on your activity. Not all metrics are as informative and trustworthy though, especially certain sleep metrics.
The tracking does not happen automatically though, you have to activate it from the screen.
A major downside from the microsoft band is the design. It is a chunky wearable that feel uncomfortable and doesn't easily fit your wrist.
